Cesc Fabregas Move or No Move?
The off form Arsenal skipper has had only what can be called a miserable season in red and white. A possibility for this may be that his heart is still at Barcelona with the knowledge that he would be welcome at the Nou Camp which of course is his boyhood club. If that is the case (which I think it is) Do Arsenal really want him at the Emirates? Could Samir Nasri or Jack Wilshere fill his boots?
Okay let's be fair to the guy he is only 24 and has had his fair share of injury's, but the games he has started in he hasn't looked himself. Maybe I'm over exaggerating but he is 24 and is on about £180,000 a week wages! For a player on those sort of wages I would expect him to be playing like Xavi, Iniesta, and Kaka but can you really compare him to those great players? Maybe he is just over rated for his age?
If Arsenal were to ever let him go where would it be to? Man City? Barcelona? Real Madrid?
Cesc doesn't strike me as a player that would fit in well alongside Yaya Toure and David Silva at Man City and has also expressed his desire to return to Spain.
Would he fit into Barcalona well? Would he be content to sit on the bench? Barcelona have many great playmakers in there side such as Xavi, Iniesta, Keita and lets not forget about young Afellay comming through the ranks and will no doubt be a tarific player one day! Do they really need to spend big bucks on another playmaker? Despite that, Barcelona have expressed their desire to have Cesc in their team but Arsenal have indicated to Barcelona that it's gonna cost them! The Barcelona chairman has told Arsenal that 35m is the maximum they are willing to bid for the out of form Arsenal Skipper.
Could he fit into Real Madrid? Maybe. With Kaka not having the best of times in Madrid maybe Fabregas would be better suited to the playmaker role that Kaka plays. Plus it's not like Madrid don't have the funds. However the problem with this is that Fabregas has been at Barcalona all his childhood playing days and probably wouldn't what to be on the Madrid side in the El Classico. The bottom line is that I think that Arsene Wenger will struggle to keep him at the end of the season and quite possibly a move may be the right thing for the Arsenal skipper.
