The Long Journey #1

Another academic University year has come to an end of for myself and a host of other students. To celebrate this and the fact that my mother is turning 50 this year my family arranged a trip the land down under, the sand pit, the lucky country or just Australia. However we decided to stop off somewhere before reaching Oz.

So today after approximately 11 hours of travelling in a sweatbox of a plane including: dodgy looking food, screaming children and snoring geezers, we landed in Hong Kong. Here, we will spend the next 3 days harbourside with a pretty remarkable view. Before I go any further I'm going to chuck some facts about Hong Kong your way.

Morning view 

My first impression of Hong Kong is that the place is stepped in beauty, creativity, innovation and transparity. There my not be a endless list of things to do but there is a endless list of things to try in Hong Kong.  From scenic tramline views to underwhelming Disneyland Parks, It seems that this place has a range of activities to cater for everyone.

As for the food, well it's pretty amazing. Specifically, Chinese and Seafood is special due to it's originality and use of fresh ingredients.

The place is also surprisingly clean and well-kept compared to most cities around the world. However, being a industrial city, one of the more striking factors about this city is the pollution levels which are at some of the highest levels in the world. I don't want to go all Leo Di Caprio when talking about climate change but it's alarming how it is affecting people in this city. Everywhere you go there are people struggling for breath or wearing face masks that cover their mouth and nose. Unpleasant for the locals.

Random Sombreros popping up everywhere and I'm struggling
to establish the link between sombreros and Hong Kong! Can
anyone help me out?

Number 2 -

Some of the locals seem to have some really weird fashion senses out here.
This lady sporting a bin bag look for example. A disguise?

Number 1 -

This is a cucumber shampoo. No further elaboration or explanation needed.
