Ho ho ho Merry Christmas! If you're not feeling Chritmassy just yet then fear not as I have the perfect remedy! So kick back, grab a brew and a mince pie and crack on!

It's sounds too good to be true but yes. There is a Santa Claus FC or to pronounce their full team name "FC Santa Claus Arctic Circle". This being because the the Rovaniemi club is situated nearby to the Arctic Circle and just 835km from Helsinki. . They're a team that is rapidly growing in popularity year on year by attracting crowds of just over 2,500 per game.
They currently linger in the second tier of Finnish football sitting in 3rd and have high hopes of promotion to the top tier of Finnish football. So they'll be hoping that Santa can bring a few presents in the January transfer market. Players that may fit the bill include: Roque Santa Cruz, Kevin "Mince" Boateng, Sleigh Given, Jesus Navas, Scrroge Van Nistelrooy, Sledley King. I'll let myself out I think... Hallam FC vs Pontefract Collieries
Has the thought ever crossed your mind of why there is football on boxing day?
First day, Last day, Derby Day and Boxing days are key dates in any English football season. It's the one that many football fans scan they're eyes towards when the fixture list is first released in hope that their team is at home. However, this boxing day will see Hallam FC turn out for a fixture that they helped start 156 years ago. You may or may not know that Hallam FC are the world's second oldest football team (allegedly!). They and Sheffield FC provided the first ever boxing day fixture in 1860 and the tradition has grown and continued ever since!
On a cold, wet, boggy Yorkshire pitch Sheffield FC ran out as victors in a historic match that set a tradition more than a century on in front of a crowd of just a couple hundred. As a result there are now hundreds of boxing day fixtures throughout the country that take place. This traditional set of fixtures only occur in England as Spanish, German, French and Italian leagues all endure a peaceful holiday period. So make sure you keep a cheeky eye out from Hallam FC this Monday!
The heat down under
The English Football League isn't the only one that is soldiering on through the Festive Period. The A League is still hotting up as teams prepare for next round of fixtures on Boxing Day. League Leaders Sydney FC will be catching a Christmas day flight to Adelaide where they will try to extend their lead at the top of the table. Sydney will be jetting off across the country on Christmas day meaning that many of the footballers, playing staff and fans will be leaving loved ones over the Christmas period.
Many footballers in Australia will be celebrating Christmas on the Christmas Eve with their families and enjoying their Festive feasts. However, most of Australia is currently celebrating in 20-25 degrees heat. This is a positive change to the record temperatures that the Aussie's have managed with in recent years. Foreign players and Marquee signings often speak of how they after do adapt to warm conditions around Christmas times. I guess there's bigger problems in the world! A Christmas BBQ anyone?
Reasons to Remember
On another note, There have recently been a number of global tragedies for which many people around the world have been able to pay respect. This includes the recent disasters in Berlin to which many football clubs have paid their respects.
However, spare a thought in particular for the recent Chapecoense disaster and the families affected. Though it is positive to see the progress made of by the survivors of that crash including Alan Ruschel, Helio Neto and Jackson Follman who are all making fantastic progress.
