Aston Villa' two main men!
Stuart and Ashley! N'Zog's hear though!
This summer has definitely been a big summer for Villa with a few positives and negatives, A few positives for Villa have been a new manager, the signing of Shay Given. However Villa have had a few damaging blows in their team with the departures of Ashley Young, Stuart Downing and Brad Friedel. (Friedel was quickly replaced by Given which is why his not in the title)
Ashley Young made a big move to Man Utd where I think he will fit in perfectly with the way Man Utd play.I also think that 20m is exactly what his worth and is at the right club to maybe take his career to the next level. The so me really applies for Stuart Downing who I think definitely is one of England's best winger's and impressed me whilst he was at Middlesbrough and his move to Aston Villa wasn't a particular big one but has again shone in what has been a dismal season for Aston Villa. in 2011 he made a big money move to Liverpool where he will again be a key player in a side that is going from strengh to strengh.
Both moves for Villa are seen as costly but with young talent such as Albrighton, Bannan, Agbonglahor, Clark and Delph coming through I don't think that Villa will struggle. My only concern for Villa is that it may take a bit more time for this player's to develop. I do wonder what Darren Bent makes of all this going on. After making a big move from Sunderland his seen some of the best player's at the club go. Villa did though make a fabulous new signing this week in the shape of Charles N'zogbia who after a very good season last year completed the move from Wigan to Aston Villa. This is a very good signing for Alax Mcleish aslong as he can get N'zogbia playing aswell as last season where at times he practically won games single handed for the Latics. Very good signing by Mcleish but stil more positive signings are needed.
